Fancy Farm Phase 1 Complete!!

Phase 1 of our Fancy Farm is complete!  It was truly a labor of love and excitement as we transformed a small storage room into a cozy, elegant master lounge!  Check out the exterior of this rustic treasure!

The property is fantastic, and the homeowner's pastures and horses are the view from virtually the whole house!  Pieces of original art are found inside and outside--I LOVE that!

The elements of the master lounge came together beautifully.  Our goal was to create an elegant, yet comfortable space for relaxing at the end of the workday, I think we succeeded!

My photography is terrible, but you can see the beautiful lines of the settee, it is a slight camelback, upholstered in oatmeal linen.  The fisherman's woven basket at the end of the sofa adds texture and a great storage option for hand-knitted throws!

Why hello big boy!  The glossy white deer head on the gunmetal walls is a dramatic and fun nod to the rustic feel of the entire property.  I love that the finish is glossy!

The homeowner's extensive collection of McCarty's Mississippi Mud pottery and antique equestrian print are perfect complements to the rest of the room's decor.

Fancy Farm Update!!

All the elements are slowly but surely coming together for our super Fancy Farm project!  The ottoman is complete, as is the gorgeous frog chair!  Accent pillows, check!  Draperies, check!  Where is my settee???  Where is my side chair???  Hopefully they will arrive soon as I am getting a little impatient.  In the meantime, check out the completed frog chair--LUVIT!

Isn't it perfect??  I love the lines of the chair and the fabric makes me totally happy!

Dinner Party Table Details

The fabric for the runners--very inexpensive!  I found it in the clearance section at Hancock's Fabrics for next to nothing!  It is turquoise and brown, it definitely says fall, but NOT Thanksgiving which was important to me.  I wanted to pay tribute to the season, but make a clear delineation between the celebration of this precious couple and celebration of the upcoming holidays.

This beautiful vintage china was given to me by my dear Lou Lou.  The milk chocolate rose pattern is complemented by a tiny turquoise detail around the rim of the plate.  Perfect with the inexpensive fabric for the runners!

Utilizing a tip from the blog of my friend Tobi Fairley, I added turquoise pom pom fringe to crisp white napkins--they are stunning and laundered perfectly after (wasn't exactly sure how that was going to go:) They look perfect with the runners and highlight the thin turquoise detailing on the dinner plate!

I believe it might rain, dear!!

Entryway buffet with reindeer and pine garland--I love the natural look of the pine garland coupled with the muted greens and the orange berries!  A festive pop of gold and the entryway is welcoming and complete

Preparing for a Party

Looking forward to the weekend when my wonderful and long-suffering husband and I will host a small dinner party to honor a friend and his lovely wife-to-be!  We usually have relatively casual gatherings, but because this is such a special occasion, we (ok, not we, I) decided to step it up a little!  We (sweet baby Rosie Max and I) made invitations from simple, inexpensive cardstock, raffia and leaves from the yard.

 They are simple but unique and hopefully set the tone for an elegant, special evening!

Rosie Max was a huge help during the invitation creation process.  And just a word about Rosie--I don't even like cats, yet for whatever reason, she is IN THE HOUSE, on the furniture, and everywhere else ALL THE TIME.  Additional party info and pictures will follow! 

Fancy Farm

So excited to be working on a super project with a super client--she lives in a very rustic farmhouse on a beautiful piece of property.  It's truly an idyllic setting and we are getting ready to glam up the farm!  Gorgeous fabrics for the guest room--Note the frogs with the script--we are reupholstering an antique chair with this fun fabric.  The coral and white to be used on euros will add a special, lively touch to the all white bedding!  

Check out the inspiration board for the master bedroom sitting area--we are using one of the hottest colors of this year and last, turquoise as a foundation for this ultra chic space.  Add to the turquoise some chartreuse and grass green, and we will create a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind restful yet glamorous master sitting room.  I LOVE, LOVE that we are using the homeowner's late father's rustic, western inspired desk in this otherwise slick space, and the glossy white buck's head that we plan to mount above the desk will fit beautifully with our plan!  You must stay tuned for the dramatic before and after pictures--I can't wait till all the elements of this super cool home come together!
